How Long Should Your Website Video Be?

So, you heard all the great results that putting video on your website can bring you and you’ve decided to produce your very own video. So, how long do you make your video? The short answer is short. Keeping in mind the average human’s attention span is 8 Seconds according to 2013 report released by Statistic Brain, down from 12 seconds in 2000.( Yes, goldfish actually have longer attention spans then humans. )

Other studies by Wistia’s video lengths analytics, shows that shorter videos are better for getting people to watch the whole thing, which means shorter videos produce more engaged audience.

Keeping your video less than 2 min will most likely net you the best results. If you have a lot to say break it up in to other videos. For example if your talking about a car you may want to do one video on gas mileage another on safety features and so on.

Also, instead of posting the video on social media post a teaser video no more then 15 seconds long directing them to your website where they can watch the video in it’s entirety.
